Pentwater Homecoming

August 8th-11th, 2024

Homecoming Weekend is the most popular event all summer in Pentwater. Those that call Pentwater home, or others that previously resided here, enjoy all the festivities that celebrate the wonder of Pentwater. Visitors come and fall in love with the town. Throughout the weekend, activities include a sand castle contest, strawberry shortcake sale, golf scramble, softball tournament, concert featuring the Scottville Clown Band and MSU tailgate party. 

It’s an annual event that everyone looks forward to- don’t miss the festivities during Pentwater Homecoming. This year’s event sponsors are Shelby State Bank and Gale’s Agency.

Thursday

  • 10am-1pmFarmers Market, Village Green- 327 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
  • 6pm– Strawberry Shortcake Social on the Village Green, hosted by the Pentwater Lake Association
  • 7:30pm– Les Bailey Memorial Concert with the Pentwater Civic Band and the Scottville Clown Band, Village Green

Friday

  • 8am-12pm– Sand Sculpture Contest at Charles Mears State Park, sponsored by the Pentwater Service Club (Judging at 11am). Theme: Celebrating the History of Pentwater.
  • 1pm– Storytelling by Storybook Village- 560 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
  • 3pm – Pentwater Women’s Club Quilt Raffle at the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce- 345 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
  • 8pm – Movies on the Village Green

Saturday

  • 11:45am – Ensign Race at the Pentwater Yacht Club- 205 S. Dover St., Pentwater
  • 12-8pm – Big Ten Tailgate Party at the Village Cafe & Pub- 347 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
  • 1pm– Horseshoe Tournaments at Art Audrey Memorial Horseshoe Pits at Fire Barn- 486 E. Park St., Pentwater. Sponsored by Direct Advertising Company (Contact Dennis Veine at 231-869-4169 for more info).
  • 2pm– Registration and Lineup for Grand Parade at Pentwater Public Schools (Judging at 3:30pm, download the registration form here
  • 4pm– Grand Parade sponsored by Cosmic Candy, Grand Marshals: Rob Barber & Amy LaBarge
  • Evening– Live Music at the Village Cafe & Pub- 347 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
  • Dusk– Fireworks over Lake Michigan at Charles Mears State Park

Sunday

  • 8am-12pm– VFW Pancake Breakfast at Pentwater VFW Hall- 8440 US 31 North, Pentwater
  • 9am AND 10:30am– Worship services at First Baptist Church- 101 S. Rush St., Pentwater
  • 9:30am– Worship Service on the Village Green with Centenary United Methodist Church (Bring your own chair)
  • 10am– Worship Service at St. James Episcopal Church- 82 S. Wythe St., Pentwater
  • 10:30am – Worship services at Vincent’s Catholic Church- 637 6th St., Pentwater
  • 11am – Worship services at Lighthouse Lutheran Church- 8786 US-31, Pentwater
  • 6pm– Funky soul music at Gull Landing- 438 S. Hancock St., Pentwater
