Silver Lake's Apple & BBQ Cook-Off Festival
Canceled for 2020 due to Covid-19. Will return in 2021
Silver Lake Sand Dunes holds its very popular Apple BBQ Cook-Off Festival in the business district in mid-September.
Includes Amateur & Professional BBQ Competition, craft show, classic auto & truck show, dune buggy show, beer tent, food vendors and live entertainment.
Here are the highlights from 2019:
10am-5pm - King of the Dunes BBQ Competition. Awards at 6:30pm.
Noon-9:30pm - Food vendors.
2pm-5:30pm - Keith Scott, Festival Stage.
3pm-9:30pm - Beer tent.
5pm-8pm - Children's Activities.
5:30pm - Beak to Beak competition.
6pm-9:30pm - Olivia & The Aquatic Troupe, Festival Stage.
9am - Apple A Day 5K Fun Run/Walk, Mac Woods Dune Rides.
10am-2pm - KCBS Professional Competition.
10am-5pm - Homemade Crafts & Fresh Farm Apples/Produce Show.
11am-7pm - Children's Activities, Games & Inflatables.
10am-4:30pm - Classic Vehicle & ORV Show.
10am-5pm - Rudy the DJ from Big R Productions, Festival Stage.
10am-9:30pm - Food Vendors.
Noon-9:30pm - Beer Tent.
Noon - Apple a Day 5K Awards.
1pm - BBQ Eating Contests.
1:45pm - Apple Pie Awards.
3pm - KCBS awards.
4:15pm - Classic Vehicle & ORV Show Awards.
6pm-10pm - Joe Johnson & the Bluebacks, Festival Stage.
Mt. Baldy Hill Climb
Saturday - technical inspection 11am-4pm.
Sunday - Race at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes 10am.
